BARRY MCEVOY (Estragon)

Barry began his acting career at the Source Theater with ESPRIT de CORPS for the 1990 Washington Theater Festival. He was nominated for Best Actor for the role. His 2nd (and first union) acting credit was with Robert McNamara and SCENA, in MISTAKE by Vaclav Havel.

Since then, theatre highlights include… the North American premiere of MOONLIGHT by Harold Pinter at the Roundabout, NY, alongside Jason Robards and Liev Schreiber. The Broadway cast and U.S. National tour of THE SISTERS ROSENSWEIG by Wendy Wasserstein (incl. Kennedy Center), THE ENTERTAINER by John Osborne (Classic Stage, NY), SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION (Gaiety Theatre, Dublin), 900 ONEONTA (Circle Rep, NY), ON THE WATERFRONT (Broadway) and STONES IN HIS POCKETS at the Mark Taper Forum, LA. SCENA Washington's credits include JULIUS CAESAR, THE WEIR, PUBLIC ENEMY, and THE NIGHT ALIVE.

He holds an MFA in Playwriting from the LIR Academy/Trinity College, Dublin, where he now lives.

JOSEPH MCGUCKEN (Vladimir)

Joseph is a multi-faceted, versatile actor, writer, and producer who has built a large online following through his comedy sketches, reaching millions of views.

The popular sketches led to him securing two seasons of his sketch show, "Darren & Joe's Free Gaff." It became RTE Player's most streamed original series and was nominated for several RTS Awards.

He won Best Actor at the Dublin Comedy Film Festival for his lead role in the feature film Wickedly Evil and was nominated in several other festivals. He also starred in Jason Branigan's short film Picture Day and Thomas Hefferon's Lucky Liam, which are currently in post-production.

He has sold out multiple shows in Vicar St with his live podcast "Stall It."

However, there's more to Joe than just comedy. He recently finished his short film "Hometime." It is a dramatic movie about the drinking culture in the 90s and its impact on young people. It's currently being shown in festivals around the world.

ROBERT MCNAMARA (POZZO)

Robert McNamara has served as the Artistic Director of SCENA Theatre since its founding in 1987, transforming Washington, DC’s premier institution for international drama. Under his visionary leadership, SCENA has become renowned for presenting exceptional classic European plays and innovative new works that stimulate cultural exchange locally and abroad.

An acclaimed director recognized with the Kennedy Center Fellowship of the Americas for Directing, Robert’s career is marked by groundbreaking productions and international accolades. His extensive work includes collaborations with renowned theatre festivals, tours across Europe, and a rich legacy of staging dynamic works that have defined the region's cultural landscape.

Now, in his compelling portrayal of Pozzo in Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, Robert channels decades of theatrical expertise and passion into a performance that is both authoritative and profoundly resonant. His commanding presence on stage is a testament to a lifetime dedicated to the dramatic arts, inviting audiences to experience the full depth and complexity of Beckett’s timeless work.

Ian Blackwell Rogers (Lucky)

Ian Blackwell Rogers has appeared in many Scena Theatre productions: The Insect Play, The Plague, The Chairs, Public Enemy, Julius Caesar, and most recently Ajax. It might be easier to list the Shakespeare and other early modern plays he hasn't done in Baltimore and DC with Brave Spirits Theatre and the Baltimore Shakespeare Factory. He has also appeared all over the area as Edgar Allan Poe, starting with two immersive productions of "A Dream Within a Dream" with Through the 4th Wall Productions.

ARLO MCEVOY (Boy)

Arlo makes his theatre debut with this production of WAITING FOR GODOT. His other acting credit is in the Laoisa Sexton-directed short film I CAN’T GO ON, which premiered at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh. Interests include playing football (soccer), riding his stunt scooter, designing games for Roblox, playing with his dog, Ruby, making videos with his drone, and recording Rap songs.

His stage debut was in a hotel in Wicklow, Ireland, where he got up and sang TEENAGE KICKS by THE UNDERTONES.

Henry Kasdan (Boy)

Henry Kasdan discovered his passion for acting and singing through the theatre program at Alice Deal Middle School, in Washington, DC. He made his theatrical debut in Deal Middle School’s production of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night,” followed by performances in “Madagascar: The Musical” and Shakespeare’s “The Tempest.” Henry is thrilled to join the cast for Scena’s production of “Waiting for Godot.”

Kolby Niederstrasser (Boy)

Kolby Niederstrasser is proud to make his SCENA Theatre debut as Boy in the production of “Waiting for Godot.” Kolby is a multi-ethnic actor, dancer and singer hailed by the Washington Post as “easily the most magnetic…” stage and screen performer. 

Favorite roles include: Peter Cratchit and Tiny Tim in A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Ford’s Theatre), where he was nominated for a BroadwayWorld DC Award as Best Supporting Performer in a Professional Play, Fritz in Miami City Ballet and Ballet West’s productions of THE NUTCRACKER (Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts), and Nigel in MATILDA JR. TV credits include: SESAME STREET (Max/PBS), JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! (ABC) and JAM VAN (YouTube Originals, alongside Lin-Manuel Miranda and Trombone Shorty).

Kolby trains at ThePrep NJ/NY, the Metropolitan School of the Arts and Alchemy Ballet Academy in VA. He loves math, chess, and Roblox, and wants to thank Jessi, Tori, Jason, Mallory, Allie, Keyla, Mom and Papi for their continued support. Follow Kolby’s journey on IG @legotapper.

Nico Cabrera (Boy)

Nico Cabrera is a Washington, D.C.-based 12-year-old passionate about performing — on stage, on camera, and behind the mic. His theater credits include Boy Scrooge/Turkey Boy in A Christmas Carol at Ford’s Theatre (2023, 2024), Young Will in Big Fish (Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre), and the son of Medea in Capital Fringe’s award-winning Medea, along with Charlie in Willie Wonka Jr (Two Rivers MS). On-screen, Nico starred as Jonah in Whitsunday, learning life lessons on ice skates. He also stars in the upcoming Azads Studios' thriller short film Scarecrow, the story of a boy in the 1960's who begins to suspect something lurking on his family's farm, later uncovering a chilling truth that forces him to make an impossible choice. Nico’s voice-over work includes two animated films, Crossing the Border and Killer Instincts, and Ezra in the 10-part podcast Jesse Tree Tales on the Hallow app. Beyond acting, Nico is a competitive swimmer with DC Wave, a fan of Uruguay’s soccer team Nacional, and loves to ski. He is writing and starring in a short film 503 A Silent Cure for his middle school drama class.
